My Story

My story starts back in late 2003, early 2004 with a visit to my in-laws for a family get together. We all went outside for a family photo (about 40 people!) and had our picture taken. When I looked at this photo I was shocked! Who is this guy with the spare tire around his waist? I had gotten lazy and was not eating well. My wife would try to get me to exercise with her (doing Kathy Smith aerobic workouts) but I was not interested! I had gotten really dormant even, like a bear during the winter. Years earlier I had worked over-night at Wal-Mart, putting out freight all night, unloading trucks, pulling pallets and I was working out 3 days a week in a gym. I WAS in good shape, but now I was a pudgy sloth.
In February of 2004 I joined the gym next door to my office and started working out 3 days a week using a book by Ellington Darden “The New Hit Training” (High Intensity Training) I hit the gym faithfully for a year and a half and saw great results but I still wasn’t eating much better. I was feeling good and everything was going well.

In July of 2005 I was served divorce papers and in November I got laid off from my job. No more gym membership! I have struggled those a divorce and severe financial hardships, depression and more but I tell you this, God always has a plan! I have made great strides physically and emotionally over the last almost 2 years. In 2008 I saw the movie “300″ and was interested in how the cast got so “ripped” for the movie so I did some research on “The 300 Workout” and found a reference to P90X being as close to the “300″ workout as possible so I researched P90X for a while and on July 21st, 2008 I began to run and cycle and prepare myself for “the coming of the X”. Today is Sept 30, 2008 and I am on DAY TWO of my first round of “P90X. The last two days have been TOUGH but I know I will get better and I am determined to BRING IT every day for the next 90 days and then for the rest of my life!
I have already felt an improvement in my fitness level just from the running and cycling. I started telling others about what i was doing and realized that “THIS” was something I was really passionate about. I want to help others get fit and stay fit too. Your health should be a major priority in life and being fit makes your life all around better. For this reason I decided to become a Beachbody Coach.

UPDATE: March 11, 2011

Well, it’s been more than a year since I finished P90X the first time and  after a few failed attempts to start a second round I had given up for quite a while. I am now a good 10 pounds heavier and though I am not in BAD shape, I have lost a lot of muscle tone and gained weight, feeling sluggish and plum lazy really! Now, I have made up my mind to start my second round of P90X and get back in the shape I was before. It will not be easy but it will DEFINITELY be worth it.  I had gotten away from coaching for a while  also and have really missed it. Stay tuned for updates on my second round of P90X coming soon!

UPDATE: March 21, 2011

Second round of P90X started today! Hit P90X Chest and Back hard today and I am pretty sore tonight at work. Plyometrics is next in the morning! I am going to try and post new content at least once a week as I progress. Stay tuned!
